Mardi Gras Mysteries

Today is Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday. Mardi Gras/Carnivale, whatever you call it, it's the perfect time and place for Murder! I've expanded my list from last year, but I'm sure I've left out a few classics. Any Julie Smith or James Lee Burke mysteries set during Mardi Gras?

Yep--Julie Smith's _New Orleans Mourning_ (which may be the first installment of the Skip Langdon series) has a Mardi Gras setting!

New Orleans Mourning was not only the first Skip Langdon, it also won the Edgar for Best Novel--Julie Smith was the first American woman to win in almost thirty years.
