The most frightening 'mother' murder mystery is Celia Fremlin's 'The Hours Before Dawn'. I dare any mother to read it and not relate. Although I was a mother at the time this was written ( 1960s) this book is not dated; my daughter loves it, too. We both understand the fears and the anguish and the sheer hell of being a mother.......
