I can't wait to see Kenneth Branagh as Kurt Wallander. We in the U.S. have to wait to get our British shows. ReplyDeleteAccording to my English cousin who has seen the first Wallander program, Kenneth Brannagh is excellent. She felt the story was very dark and I told her that's the way Mankell writes. I too want very much to see them.

Just read the Joe Queenan article. This is without doubt one of the best articles on crime fiction I have read in years. I especially like his ability to write about other authors that he may not like, in ways that don't belittle the people who do. He is very perceptive as to why the Scandinavian writers are popular right now. Highly recommend this article.
