Michael Kitchen returns as Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle in three brand new episodes of the acclaimed series. It is June 1945, and VE Day has been celebrated in Britain. The state of the country, however, is far from jubilant in the aftermath of war. Keen to retire, but bound to his old job by the steep rise in violent crime that swept the country, Foyle is thrust into the dangerous worlds of international conspiracy and execution, military racism and national betrayal. He must feel his way through this new world as he faces some of his toughest challenges and gripping plots to date. (All episodes 90 minutes.)

I'm so excited about this year's Masterpiece Mystery. Such a wealth of shows to watch. Ecstatic about more Foyle's War. My favorite.

ReplyDeleteThis looks like a really terrific line up. I prefer Julia Mckenzie as Miss Marple to Geraldine McEwen. Joan Hickson is still the best. Glad to see more Poirot's. Cat Among the Pigeons was excellent. But they ruined beyond recognition, Murder on the Orient Express. As that was my first ever Christie, when I was 13, I feel very protective of the story. Looking forward to Foyle and Lewis.
ReplyDeleteMy mistake. It was Murder on the Blue Train that was ruined. I always confuse the two titles. Hope this Orient is as good as the one with Albert Finney as Poirot.
