Join the Twitter Discussion on Sunday, July 11, when Hercule Poirot played by David Suchet returns with Murder on the Orient Express. This is one of Agatha Christie's most famous mysteries, and this new production is very different from anything you've seen before.
2010 marks Agatha Christie's 120th birthday. Masterpiece mystery! is celebrating Christie and her suave Belgian detective with a live Twitter event on Sunday, July 11, 2010, during the premiere of Murder on the Orient Express.
Because this is a Twitter discussion, you can tweet and follow from wherever you are and whenever you're watching, but during 9-10:30 pm EDT & 9-10:30 PDT, PBS and Masterpiece insiders will be joined by me @JanetRudolph from Mystery Readers Journal, Kate Stein from Mystery Scene @KateStein and Andrew Gulli from The Strand Magazine @strandmag Others joining at that time are: @pbs; @masterpiecepbs -- and YOU!
Tag your posts with the hashtag #mystery_pbs and then visit on TweetGrid, or use your own favorite aggregator. I use Tweetdeck!

If this is all Greek to you, just watch Murder on the Orient Express next Sunday night! Check local listings for time!
I think Greek would be easier. But thanks for the mention of David Suchet on Wed. evening. I would otherwise have missed that. I have been enjoying the Julia McKenzie Marples even though the stories are hopelessly mangled.
ReplyDeleteJanet - Thanks so much for this incredibly useful and interesting info : ). I look forward to it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for pointing this out!
ReplyDeleteThis looks terrific. I was so disappointed to learn that the Orient Express has stopped operations (is that true?). I know they had cut back, and no longer go to Istanbul. But have they really shut down completely? Travelling on the Orient Express was one of my dreams.
ReplyDeleteMary, I thought it was still running. I talked with someone recently who said she was going to be taking the Orient Express this summer. I'll check.
ReplyDeleteI just met someone online who's written a radio play based on Agatha Christie's work and passed along the info. This sounds terrific, I can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteIs the Poirot Orient express episode live web-cast on PBS as well? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteIt will be on TV (not web), we'll be discussing it before and after the broadcast. 9-10:30 EDT & PDT.. and some time else in the middle. You can still go to discuss after, using the hatchtag. Then the show will be a webcast on the PBS site for up to two weeks, in case you miss it.
