Hat Tip to GM Maillet for this news. ITV has commissioned Five new Poirot films for production in 2012!
David Suchet will return to his role as Hercule Poirot, the fastidious and brilliant Belgian detective.
The films, based on the Agatha Christie Poirot novels and short stories yet to be filmed, have been commissioned from ITV Studios and Agatha Christie Ltd.
The Poirot films which will go into production during 2012 are:
Labours of Hercules; Dead Man's Folly; The Big Four; Elephants Can Remember; Curtain.
Really exciting news. I love this series.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Poirot die in Curtain?
ReplyDeleteyes, so that must be the Final Curtain..for the shows
ReplyDeleteSo happy about this! To me, Suchet is Poirot. Of course, I wish they weren't doing Curtain...
ReplyDeleteI feel this is good news/ worried news. Most of the productions are great, but there have been some bad misfires where the script writers feel the need to completely change the story. Mystery on the Blue Train is a prime example. The TV show barely resembles the story, likewise Appointment With Death. but I am always hopeful.
ReplyDeletecan anyone tell me the suchet movie where hastings is returning to england and poirot and miss lemon go to meet him at the airport and miss lemon exclaims, "welcome home, captain hastings!" i am wracking my brains!
