Let me know if I've forgotten any of your favorites.
I have often wondered why independent bookstores do not carry independent authors books.
ReplyDeleteI recommend adding S.A. Lelchuk's Nikki Griffin novels: Save Me From Dangerous Men and One Got Away. Nikki owns an independent bookstore on Telegraph Ave in Berkeley.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good question Don.
ReplyDeleteThey're independents, but they support the likes of Murdoch and his various publishing houses who seem to pick and choose who gets published based on - in a lot of cases, judging from the books - who's going to who's dinner party.
Then they complain that Independent Authors go to Amazon..?
And yet Amazon's PoD would allow them to stock and promote Independent authors, and make a good margin - probably beter than they make off some Murdoch conglomerate.
Something does not quite compute...
How about Cleo Coyle? It's an older series but it is being started up again. The Ghost and the Femme Fatale is my favourite in the series.
ReplyDeleteI just read the first Nikki Griffin book. I'm picking up the second tonight!
