SCRIBE AWARD WINNERS 2026


The International Association of Media Tie-in Writers announced the winners of the Scribe Awards for superior works published in 2025.

The IAMTW’s Scribe Awards honor excellence in the field of writing tie-in fiction for media franchises. 

These works include novels, short stories, audio dramas, and graphic novels tied to licenses of movies and TV shows, as well as video games, comics, songs, and even book series.

SCRIBE AWARD NOMINEES 2021

Acknowledging excellence in the field of tie-in writing, the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers announced the nominees for the 2021 Scribe Awards. Congratulations to all! 

There are six prize categories, but the one of foremost interest to mystery readers—“General Original Novel and Adapted Novel”—features the following nominees:

 Masquerade for Murder, by Mickey Spillane and 
Max Allan Collins (Titan)
 Mindgame, by David J. Howe (Telos)
 Day Zero: Watchdogs Legion, by James Swallow and 
Josh Reynolds (Aconyte)
 The Rise of Skywalker, by Rae Carson (Del Rey)

Scribe winners will be announced on Friday, July 2.

Scribe Awards: International Association of Media Tie-In Writers

The International Association of Media Tie-in Writers announced the winners of the 2017 Scribe Awards. These prizes are intended to “honor licensed (published) works that tie in with other media such as television, movies, gaming, or comic books. These include original works set in established universes, and adaptations of stories that have appeared in other formats and that cross all genres.” Among the five categories of Scribe are these of interest to mystery readers:

Adapted—General and Speculative:
• Assassin’s Creed, by Christie Golden

General Original:
• Robert B. Parker’s Slow Burn, by Ace Atkins

Winners were announced at Comic-Con International in San Diego, (July 20-23).
