My favorite: Jasper Fforde’s Great Library
I fell in love with story telling, books, and libraries when I was very young. It helped having a house full of books in many languages and a library nearby that was a Gilded Age beauty, built in the early 1900s to look like a Venetian palazzo. Going there was a weekly glimpse of heaven.
I love the Dr. Edward George series. I wish he had had time to write more of them.
I hope this counts. PIP Inc. Mysteries. Pat Pirard is the Santa Cruz County Law Librarian who gets downsized and takes up being a PI to keep food on the table. She uses much of what she’s learned in her specialized capacity to solve mysteries and murders sometimes massaging the legal requirements a licensed PI would need to follow because she’s an unlicensed amateur.
Just finished Brad Parks' Interference, which features a librarian trying to solve her husband's disappearance.
