Jacqueline Winspear TV and print

Somewhere, and I think it was the Sisters in Crime newsletter, I read that books 7 and 8 in Jacqueline Winspear's wonderful Maisie Dobbs series sold to Harper. Also, the TV rights to this popular series were sold to Sally Head Productions, producer of the Prime Suspect series. Cool! Looking forward to reading and viewing.

Jacqueline Winspear won the Macavity Award in 2006 for Pardonable Lies.

It's always a gamble when a good series is made into a TV series but I'm encouraged by the fact that the same people that did Prime Suspect have the rights. Prime Suspect is one of the best series ever produced. Casting is critical as well as how close to the actual story the TV series is.Many a good series has been ruined by TV producers thinking they can improve or update the original.
