Bony Blithe/Bloody Words Light Mystery Award 2021

The Bony Blithe is an annual Canadian award celebrating traditional, feel-good mysteries. Now in its 10th year, the award includes everything from laugh-out-loud to gentle humour to good old-fashioned stories with little violence or gore – in short, books that are fun to read.

Bony Blithe will be retiring and the 2021 award is the final one. There will be a Bony Blithe newsletter called Bare Bones which will be about the world of light mysteries

 

There is still the intent to have an event to celebrate the 2021 Bony Blithe winners as well as Bony Blithe's 10th birthday, but no exact plans yet.

As announced in March, the 2021 Bloody Words Mini-con/Bony Blithe Award Dinner, originally scheduled for Friday, May 28. However, they will be announcing the 2021 Bony Blithe winner online on May 28 , so watch for an email or check Facebook or the Bony Blithe Website

The award will be presented at the Bony Blithe Mini-con  & Award Gala on May 25th, at the High Park Club, 100 Indian Road, Toronto, Canada. 11:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. includes lunch, panels and/or round-table discussions, afternoon nibblies, a dealers room, loot bags, and the award banquet where the monarch of merry murder will be crowned. 10 hours of criminous capering, all for $65. The Bloody Words Light Mystery Award Announces Finalists


(Toronto, ON) April 13, 2017 – The Bloody Words Light Mystery Award (aka the Bony Blithe Award), an annual Canadian award that celebrates traditional, feel-good mysteries is pleased to announce this year’s finalists. Now in its sixth year, the award is for a “mystery book that makes us smile” and includes everything from laugh-out-loud to gentle humour to good old-fashioned stories with little violence or gore – in short, books that are fun to read.

Congratulations to the five finalists for the 2017 award:

The award will be presented at the Bony Blithe Mini-con & Award Gala on Friday, May 26, at the High Park Club, 100 Indian Road, Toronto. The festivities run from 11:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. and include lunch, panels and/or round-table discussions, afternoon nibblies, a dealers room, loot bags, and the award banquet where the monarch of merry murder will be crowned. The Bony Blithe Award

Bloody Words, the Canadian crime-fiction convention, has announced its nominees for a new annual award, the Light Mystery Award. This prize “celebrates traditional, feel-good mysteries ... The award--aka the Bony Blithe--is for a ‘book that makes us smile,’ which includes everything from laugh-out-loud, to gentle humour, to good old-fashioned stories with little violence or gore.”
