Left Coast Crime Awards

Left Coast Crime has been wonderful! I'm thoroughly enjoying myself, and I'll be posting more info on the convention hopefully when I get back. In the meantime, the awards were presented this evening in Sacramento.

The Lefty for best humorous mystery novel:
Donna Andrews, The Real Macaw (Minotaur)


The Bruce Alexander Memorial Historical Mystery Award:
Ann Parker, Mercury's Rise (Poisoned Pen Press)

The Golden Nugget is a special award given to the best mystery set in California, in recognition of the location of this year's convention:
Kelli Stanley, City of Secrets (Minotaur)

Eureka! is a special award this year for the best first mystery novel.
Darrell James, Nazareth Child (Midnight Ink)

The Left Coast Crime Convention is an annual event sponsored by fans of mystery literature for fans of mystery literature, including both readers and authors.

The Dilys Award given by the Independent Mystery Booksellers was also announced this evening:
Ghost Hero, S.J. Rozan (Minotaur)

The conference, as always, was a treat. Excellent panels, great discussions, meeting new fellow readers. Congratulations to all the winners. Well deserved!
