Today marks the Summer Solstice! It's my favorite day of the year because it's the longest, and I love light! Today is also the first day of summer. So in honor of the day and the new season, I have updated my Summertime Mystery List!
Summertime, and the living is easy. Or is it? So many mysteries taking place during Summer are filled with murder and mayhem -- on the Beach, at the Lake, and in the City! What follows is a list of Summer Crime Fiction that exudes the heat and accompanying crime of Summertime. I've omitted most Fourth of July and Labor Day Mysteries from this list because I'll be updating those specific lists later this Summer. As always I invite you to add any titles I've missed. I'd like to suggest Scrublands by Chris Hammer - can't remember if it's set in summer per se but the dry drought stricken Australian outback sure isn't cold and rainy! I think is a "sizzling" debut and highly recommend it.
