THE CHELSEA DETECTIVE, Season 4

The Chelsea Detective, Season 4, starts today on AcornTV. I've watched the whole season (sadly only four episodes), but they are really good. Great acting, good plots, and terrific Chelsea-centric ambiance. I really think this is the best season yet. Enjoy!

Season 4 sees DI Max Arnold (Adrian Scarborough, Falling, Killing Eve, 1917) and DS Layla Walsh (Vanessa Emme, Dublin Murders, Three Families) return to tackle new murder cases within the elite world of Chelsea. The detective duo, together with their team, delve once more into the darker side of Chelsea that lurks beneath its glossy façade.

Just watched the first two episodes of Season 4 in advance, and they are really good. Great acting, good plots, and terrific Chelsea-centric ambiance. Hope you like the season. I only wish there were more than 4 episodes.

THE CHELSEA DETECTIVE, SEASON 3

The Chelsea Detective, Season 3, starring Adrian Scarborough as DI Max Arnold and Vanessa Emme as DS Layla Walsh, premieres Monday, April 7 on Acorn TV.

The upcoming season features three new cases, including the discovery of an ex-soldier’s body in an allotment, the murder of an antiques dealer, and the mysterious death of a climate scientist found in a stolen car. Meanwhile, Max navigates relationship struggles as he and his estranged wife attempt couples therapy.

Don't miss the Season 3 Christmas Special on Acorn TV (technically, the First Episode of Season 3). It aired in December 2024 and is still available on AcornTV).

The Chelsea Detective Christmas Special is available today on AcornTV. The Christmas episode stars Adrian Scarborough. This special will also serve as the start of Season 3, which will be comprised of four 90 minute episodes that will continue into 2025.

Well this is good news! I've been waiting for the return of The Chelsea Detective, one of my favorite detective shows. Acorn TV has announced that the Christmas episode, starring Adrian Scarborough, will drop on December 16. This special will also serve as the start of Season 3, which will be comprised of four 90 minute episodes that will continue into 2025. (Not enough, but I'll take them!) 

Also reprising their roles in Season 3 are Peter Bankolé (DI Ray, Bodkin) as DC Connor Pollock, Lucy Phelps (Grace) as DC Jess Lombard, Sophie Stone (Shetland) as Chief Forensics Officer Ashley Wilton, and Frances Barber (Whitstable Pearl) as Max’s Aunt Olivia.

The Chelsea Detective, Season 2

AcornTV has announced that Season 2 of the Chelsea Detective will premiere Monday, August 28th, with new episodes airing weekly. I really enjoyed Season 1 (still available on Acorn). Great setting, plot lines, and acting.

Adrian Scarborough stars as DI Max Arnold, a recently-separated police officer who lives on an old houseboat while holding out hope that he’ll get back together with his wife. He's clever, determined, and perhaps most importantly, he doesn't care about wealth or status when it comes to getting justice. Raised by a local bookshop owner, he's a life-long Chelsea resident – but not part of the elite class of people who make up most of the neighbourhood.

The Chelsea Detective follows a police pair solving baffling crimes in well-heeled west London. 

London's Chelsea neighbourhood is a beautiful borough for beautiful people, but it has a dark underside of deception, violence, greed-and murder. Bodies have a way of showing up, and things are rarely what they seem. DI Max Arnold (Adrian Scarborough) and his partner, DS Priya Shamsie (Sonita Henry), must root out the truth and bring those responsible to justice, no matter their wealth or status.
