PROFESSOR T RENEWED FOR SEASON 5

In case you missed this news, I thought I'd post. I really like Professor T with Ben Miller. News is that the show will return with Ben Miller in the title role for a fifth season of the hit detective series Professor T. And this is even before season 4 has aired!

The series, based on a Belgian drama (available on a streaming service), follows the genius Cambridge criminologist Professor Jasper Tempest as be solves an assortment of crimes while also dealing with his rather over-bearing mother, played by Frances de la Tour. Season 4 is set to air later in the year, but fans will be delighted to know that further episodes have already been greenlit.

In addition to Miller and de la Tour, the new season will include Zoe Wanamaker as the Professor’s aunt, Zelda Radclyffe, and Juliet Stevenson as psychologist Dr Helena Goldberg. Other cast members will be back, too.

Can't wait. In the U.S. Professor T airs on PBS.

PROFESSOR T: Season 3

Last night was a great night on PBS. Besides Season 2 of DI Ray and Season 9 of Grantchester, there was Season 3 of Professor T. This is the British version of Professor T. You can watch on PBS (real time), PBS Passport, or PBS Masterpiece. In the new series, Professor T is in jail awaiting trial. As the professor struggles to get his old life and job back, he is helped by Dan and Lisa who again rely on his brilliant criminal insight and analysis to solve tricky and intriguing crimes. It's a really quirky series. Professor T, played by Ben Miller, is obsessed with cleanliness, structure, and order. He's a genius at solving crimes, but doesn't have much time for people.

Good News: Season 4 has begun filming.

PROFESSOR T: Season 2

Professor T, Season 2 is set to air in the UK on ITV September 16. No news yet about the U.S. release. Professor T, Season 1 aired on PBS and PBS Masterpiece, so it seems likely Season 2 will air there. This Professor T is the British version of the show and stars Ben Miller (Death in Paradise). It aired to mixed reviews, but I liked it. And, yes, I saw the other versions (Belgian and German). They were equally interesting, but this one had more humor, and I love comedy!

Professor T: Every aspect of Professor Jasper Tempest's life is precisely calibrated and rigidly structured. Impeccably dressed and meticulously punctual, he lectures daily at the Cambridge Institute of Criminology, teaching students imaginatively, if pedantically, about the science of crime. Each evening, he returns home to his apartment, which is as sterile and systematically ordered as a science lab.

You can watch Season 1 on PBS Passport and PBS Masterpiece.

More news to come!!
